Our volunteers always receive accommodations to include room and board, two basic meals per day, and access to laundry and kitchen appliances when available. We request a commitment of 20 to 25 hours per week of participation in exchange. We also request each volunteer commit to at least 3 consecutive weeks. Volunteers will be expected to provide a $300 deposit, refundable upon completion of their agreement, and valid identification prior to being assigned duties. Although not required, we suggest our volunteers have appropriate insurance for any unexpected emergencies.

Hospitality

A Greeter’s responsibilities include ensuring guests are greeted upon arrival and provide directions or information to attendees ensuring they are able to locate their rooms. The greeter will provide information where to find the conference center and dining facilities.

Hospitality may include providing additional towels and linens or assisting with contacting partnered therapeutic service providers.

Housekeeping

A volunteer Housekeeper will be able to attend to our facilities with integrity and attention to detail. The goal is to create a clean and orderly environment for our guests that will become a critical factor in maintaining and strengthening our reputation. We prefer the housekeeper possess skills in the areas:

  • Perform a variety of cleaning activities such as sweeping, mopping, dusting and polishing
  • Ensure all rooms are cared for and inspected according to standards
  • Protect equipment and make sure there are no inadequacies
  • Notify superiors on any damages, deficits and disturbances
  • Deal with reasonable complaints/requests with professionalism and patience
  • Check stocking levels of all consumables and replace when appropriate
  • Adhere strictly to rules regarding health and safety and be aware of any company-related practices
Landscaping/Grounds Keeper
This person will perform a range of general lawn maintenance duties including applying fertilizers, maintaining the landscape design, removing weeds and dead plants, and supervising repairs. As the landscaper, you will ensure the growth and vibrancy of our plants, flowers, lawn, and garden structures. The ideal candidate will be creative, with excellent problem-solving and organizational skills. Responsibilities:
  • Conduct general maintenance duties such as cleaning walkways, fixing fountains, and other duties.
  • Take out weeds and dead plants.
  • Trim overgrown limbs, hedges, and leaves.
  • Plant new decorative bushes, flowers, plants, and shrubs.
  • Coordinate with garden designers and landscape architects to ensure the garden meets expectations.
Requirements:
  • Must be able to operate maintenance equipment including lawnmowers, leaf blowers, and hedge trimmers.
  • High attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
  • Good stamina and physical health.
Gardener

The responsibility of a gardener is to maintain the beauty of plants, outdoor grounds, and trees in a garden. They perform a range of general maintenance tasks including designing, producing, renewing and preserving outside spaces.

  • Maintain and grow the garden to ensure it meets specific requirements and expectations.
  • Plant and nurture new trees, flowers, and various plants.
  • Work with hand tools and basic light machinery such as plant vehicles, and small diggers.
  • Maintain a clean garden by clearing rubbish and litter from the garden and grounds.
marketing

The marketing volunteer will work with the marketing team to produce pamphlets and flyers promoting activities and events. Marketing Specialist, or Digital Marketing Specialist, is responsible for coordinating with other marketing and sales professionals to implement innovative campaigns for branding or product launches. Their duties include researching target audiences, recording data from campaign results to add to future reports and overseeing a company’s social media channels to ensure brand uniformity.

Maintenance

Familiarity with electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems is essential. The maintenance volunteer will be committed to meeting health and safety standards. Some responsibilities may include:

  • Inspect property regularly to ensure it meets safety standards
  • Arrange for routine maintenance in rooms, lobbies and facilities (e.g. kitchens, conference rooms, restrooms, guest lodging)
  • Organize repair projects in a manner conducive to guest visits
Community Outreach

An Outreach Coordinator, or Community Outreach Coordinator, is responsible for connecting an organization with the surrounding community. Their duties include brainstorming potential partnerships or methods for engagement with the local community, maintaining a calendar for outreach events and working closely with community partners to plan and execute various outreach events.

Animal Care

Volunteers give the animals what they want and need most: personal attention, hands-on care and love. We encourage and support that includes those with disabilities and who seek healing from trauma induced transformation.

We invite you to participate with our animal care regardless of your transformational focus. Animal care often includes feeding cats, dogs, livestock and wildlife. We incorporate bird sanctuary practices to promote and support native species and their seasonal ability to thrive. This may include building birdhouses and bird feeders or nesting areas in vegetation.
