Drum Circles have been around for thousands of years. Shamanism is universal, unbound by social or cultural conditions. Shamanic drumming is for inducing a range of ecstatic trance states in order to connect with the spiritual dimension of reality. Our drum circle involves a group of people playing hand-drums and percussion instruments together with woodwind instruments such as flutes and digiguru. The objective is an modern adaptation to an ancient form of cultural expression playing in unison facilitating shamanic trance and entertainment.

Shamanic drumming became part of sacred rituals and shaman’s transport to enter altered states of consciousness in preparation for healing. Drums also had a more practical purpose such as communication between villages and village members, and as a form of prayer or method of trance induction.

Historically, drums were made with some sort of animal skin stretched over a hollowed wooden shell. While the oldest known drum dates to 5500 B.C in China, it is widely thought that drumming originated from Africa. Drum rhythms originated in Africa and were widely spread throughout Europe, Persia and the Middle East.

Drum circles are have been gaining important roles in wellness, meditation, and alternative therapy for a number of health conditions. Although modern drum circles are not steep in centuries of history, as we deepen understanding of ourselves and our tribal nature, we realize deep rhythms experienced through drum circles connects us to an inner space that has been long forgotten.
